Stefan Zweig (Viena, 1881 - Petrópolis, 1942) fue sin duda una de las figuras intelectuales más destacadas del Viena brillante del primer tercio del siglo XX. "La impaciencia del corazón" -conocida previamente bajo el título "La piedad peligrosa"- pone el foco en los riesgos que conllevan la compasión y la educación llevadas al extremo.
