Meik Viking es director ejecutivo del Instituto para la Búsqueda de la Felicidad de Copenhague, investigador asociado por Dinamarca en la Base de Datos Mundial de la Felicidad y miembro fundador de la Red Latinoamericana de Políticas de Bienestar y Calidad de Vida. Es licenciado en Empresariales y Ciencias Políticas y anteriormente trabajó para el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de Dinamarca, para la empresa Vilstrup Research y como director de la think-tank Monday Morning. Ha escrito diversos libros e informes sobre la felicidad, el bienestar subjetivo y la calidad de vida, y da conferencias por todo el mundo.
