Aimee Nezhukumatathil es poeta y profesora de lengua inglesa y escritura creativa en la Universidad de Mississippi. Autora de cuatro poemarios, ha sido galardonada con el Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Award y el Pushcart Prize, y con las becas de la John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, el National Endowment for the Arts y el Mississippi Arts Council. Sus escritos han aparecido en las antologías de la Best American Poetry y en medios como The New York Times Magazine, Poetry, Ploughshares y ESPN, entre otros. Este es su primer libro de ensayo, que quedó finalista del Premio Kirkus.
