Biografía del autor

Yves Bonnefoy (Tours, 1923 - París, 2016) fue, sin duda, uno de los poetas más relevantes del siglo xx. Destacó también como ensayista, traductor y crítico literario y de arte. Estudió Filosofía e Historia de la Ciencia en la Sorbona, con Jean Wahl y Gaston Bachelard. Se acercó al surrealismo, del que se desligó pronto. Entre sus amistades literarias se incluían Paul Celan, André du Bouchet, Louis-René des Forêts y Michel Leiris. Fue traductor de Shakespeare, Yeats, Keats, Leopardi y Petrarca. Recibió el Prix des Critiques, el Grand Prix de Poésie de lx{0026} x02019;Académie Française, el Prix Mondial Cino del Duca, el Premio Balzan y el Premio Kafka, entre otros. Poco antes de su muerte, fue galardonado con el Premio de Literatura en Lenguas Romances que concede la Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara.
