Giuliano da Empoli es un sociólogo, ensayista y asesor político de origen italo-suizo. Dirige el think tank Volta en Milán e imparte clases en Sciences Po Paris. Su primera novela, El mago del Kremlin (Seix Barral, 2023), traducida a treinta y cinco idiomas, se ha consolidado como la gran obra sobre la Rusia contemporánea y, en un sentido más amplio, sobre la naturaleza del poder. Fenómeno literario del año en Francia, se alzó con el Gran Premio de Novela de la Academia Francesa y el premio Honoré de Balzac, además de ser finalista del premio Goncourt y del Interallié y formar parte de la selección de otros prestigiosos galardones como el Renaudot.
