Biografía del autor

Mario Benedetti (1920-2009) es uno de los más destacados escritores uruguayos del siglo XX y en su obra tocó desde la novela y el cuento hasta el teatro, el ensayo, la crítica y, por supuesto, la poesía. Alianza Editorial le ha dedicado una Biblioteca de autor en la cual figuran "La tregua" y "Gracias por el fuego" (sus novelas más conocidas), así como "Cuentos" y la obra de teatro "Pedro y el Capitán".
