Biografía del autor

Jared Diamond (Boston, 1937) es autor, entre otros títulos, de los grandes éxitos de ciencia divulgativa Armas, gérmenes y acero (galardonado con el Premio Pulitzer), de la primera versión para el público adulto de El tercer chimpancé, Colapso y El mundo hasta ayer. Es profesor de Geografía en la Universidad de California, Los Ángeles, y ha sido elegido miembro de la Academia Nacional de las Ciencias, de la Academia Americana de las Artes y las Ciencias y de la Sociedad Filosófica Americana. Está becado por la Fundación MacArthur y ha recibido la Medalla Nacional de la Ciencia.
