Hope Jahren es una de las 100 personas más influyentes del mundo según la revista Time.<br> Ha recibido tres premios Fulbright en geobiología y es además la única mujer a la que se le ha otorgado la Medalla para Jóvenes Investigadores en Ciencias de la Tierra, distinción que únicamente han obtenido otros tres científicos. Elegida por la revista Popular Science como una de las jóvenes científicas más brillantes del año 2005, ha impartido clases en diversas universidades de Estados Unidos. En la actualidad es profesora titular en la Universidad de Hawái.
