Katherine Pancol (Marruecos, 1954) es una de los diez novelistas más vendidos de Francia. Cursó estudios literarios y ejerció como profesora de latín antes de convertirse en una reputada periodista para medios como " Cosmopolitan " . Su primera novela, publicada en 1979, fue todo un éxito y le valió un puesto como profesora de Escritura Creativa en la Universidad de Columbia. Sus novelas, entre ellas " Los ojos amarillos de los cocodrilos " , " El vals lento de las tortugas " y " Las ardillas de Central Park están tristes los lunes " , tras los que publicó la trilogía Muchachas, han sido publicadas en 30 países.
