The Shopping Basket

Steven is sent out for groceries on to the mean street of the city with only a shopping basket for protection. There are several shady characters about who are offering to lighten the load of the basket by helping themselves to his provisions! Stephen's having none of it and with the help of some of the city's less attractive sights he outsmarts all of them and makes it home in time for tea. With the pictures telling as much of the story as the text, children and adults alike will appreciate the humour and observations from this well known children's author.

x{0026}lt;b John Burninghamx{0026}lt;/b es uno de los más reconocidos autores de álbumes ilustrados. Nació en Farnham (Inglaterra) en 1936 y se graduó en Arte en Londres en 1959. Con su primer álbum ilustrado x{0026}lt;i Borka: The Adventures of a Goose With No Feathersx{0026}lt;/i ganó en 1963 su primer premio Kate Greenaway. Este fue el inicio de una exitosa carrera en la que publicó más de 30 libros, varios de los cuales fueron premiados, traducidos a varios idiomas y son referentes ineludibles de la literatura infantil contemporánea. Falleció en Londres en 2019.
