x{0026}lt;P x{0026}lt;B Hisham Matarx{0026}lt;/B nació en Nueva York en 1970, de padres libios, creció en Trípoli y en El Cairo y ha pasado la mayor parte de su vida adulta en Inglaterra. Su ópera prima, x{0026}lt;I Solo en el mundox{0026}lt;/I (Salamandra, 2007), se tradujo a una treintena de idiomas, fue finalista de los premios Booker y Guardian First Book en Inglaterra y National Book Critics Circle en Estados Unidos, y obtuvo seis importantes galardones literarios internacionales, entre ellos el Commonwealth Writers' Prize, el Ondaatje de la Royal Society of Literature, el Flaiano y el Gregor von Rezzori. Un éxito que repitió con su segunda novela, x{0026}lt;I Historia de una desapariciónx{0026}lt;/I (Salamandra, 2011).
