The undisputed pioneer of the horror, detective and science-fiction genres, Edgar Allan Poe was just as influential as a poet as he is now a celebrated writer of short stories. Biografía del autor

Nació en Boston en 1809. Quedó huérfano a los tres años. La tradición sureña, con sus relatos de aparecidos, cementerios y cadáveres, ofreció un vasto repertorio sobrenatural a este maestro del cuento breve, que en 1814 inauguró el género policial con Los crímenes de la calle Morgue.
