People like to think that we are gradually making progress towards equality. With the advent of ever more high-tech equipment at our fingertips, there's a general assumption that progress will be hastened, as new technology is used in positive and democratising ways.

But there is a new wave of technologies which threaten this notion. With misogyny being baked into their design, these technologies are dragging women back to the dark ages.

THE FUTURE OF SEX(ISM) will take the reader deep into the heart of this strange new world. It will dive into where and what the dangers are, exploring everything from AI to sex robots and the metaverse. This is not a book about the future. This is happening right now, and it could become part of our daily lives far sooner than we realise.

Biografía del autor

Escritora feminista británica, colabora con The Guardian entre otras publicaciones. Fundó la página web Daily Sexism Project en abril de 2012. Su primer libro, Everyday Sexism, se publicó en 2014. Previamente trabajó como actriz y niñera, un periodo en el que experimentó el sexismo en las audiciones y descubrió que las niñas que cuidaba estaban demasiado preocupadas por su imagen. Fue galardonada con la Medalla del Imperio Británico en 2015 por servicios de igualdad de género y recibió el Ultimate New Feminist Award de la revista Cosmopolitan en 2013.
