He would return home and come down for breakfast. She would put on her new red dress and they would go out. The Mother, in this English translation by Christopher Hampton, was commissioned by the Ustinov Studio, Theatre Royal, Bath, and premiered in May 2015.

The production transferred to the Tricycle Theatre, London, in May 2015. Florian Zeller's The Father was awarded the Moliere Award for Best Play 2014.

Biografía del autor

Florian Zeller, escritor y académico de la lengua, es uno de los dramaturgos franceses vivos más representados en el mundo. Nació en París en 1979 y se dio a conocer con una novela, La Fascination du Pire (finalista del Goncourt 2004). Es además director de cine, guionista y libretista de ópera. Esta trilogía involuntaria ha sido vista en más de 45 países y continúa escenificándose. Ha merecido el Grand Prix de Théâtre de l'Académie Française, un Premio Molière en 2014 y un Laurence Olivier en 2017, ha sido nombrado en Francia Caballero de las Artes y las Letras y de la Legión de Honor, y desde el pasado noviembre es el miembro más joven de la Academia Francesa. La adaptación cinematográfica de El padre, recibió dos Oscar y dos Bafta, y fue Premio del Público en San Sebastián y Goya a la Mejor Película Europea.
