Biografía del autor

Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger, conde de Saint-Exupéry (1900 - 1944) fue un aviador y escritor francés. Publicó Correo del sur (1929), su primera novela; Vuelo nocturno (1931), galardonada con el Premio Femina; Tierra de hombres (1939), que recoge sus experiencias como periodista y piloto de pruebas, y Piloto de guerra (1942), donde narra sus vivencias durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Tras la caída de Francia, se instaló en Nueva York, donde escribió e ilustró El principito (1943). Poco después se reincorporó al servicio activo y escribió Ciudadela, publicada póstumamente. El 31 de julio de 1944, el avión de Saint-Exupéry desapareció en el Mediterráneo tras despegar de Córcega.
