Biografía del autor

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry fue escritor y aviador. Formó parte de los primeros servicios postales aéreos del mundo. Mientras trabajaba como piloto, escribió El aviador (1926), Correo del Sur (1928) y Vuelo nocturno (1931), galardonado con el premio Femina. Sin embargo, su obra más famosa es El principito (1943), historia que escribió durante su estancia en Nueva York al principio de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y para la que se inspiró en una experiencia personal al sufrir una avería y perderse en el desierto. En 1943 Saint-Exupéry se unió a las fuerzas aéreas francesas y fue declarado desaparecido en 1944, mientras volaba en una misión de reconocimiento sobre el Mediterráneo.
