Andrew Ox{0026} x02019;Hagan nació en Glasgow en 1968 y estudió en la Universidad de Strathclyde. Entre 1991 y 1994 trabajó en la redacción de la London Review of Books, revista de la que, como es el caso de Esquire, es editor at large. Ha publicado cuentos, ensayos y artículos en medios como The New York Rewiev of Books, The Guardian, The New Yorker o Granta, que en 2003 lo incluyó en su lista de los veinte mejores novelistas británicos jóvenes.
