JACK LONDON (San Francisco, 1876 Glen Ellen, California, 1916) fue novelista, cuentista, periodista y una de las grandes figuras de la narrativa norteamericana de comienzos del siglo XX. Ma rinero, vagabundo, buscador de oro en Alaska y corresponsal, llevó una vida tan intensa como las historias que escribió. Autor de clásicos como La llamada de lo salvaje, Colmillo blanco o Martin Eden, su obra explora la aventura, la lucha por la supervivencia, el conflicto entre individuo y sociedad y las grietas del capitalismo industrial.
