Krauss es el físico norteamericano más puntero y activo. Doctorado en el MIT, impartió sus primeras clases en Yale y fue director del departamento de Física de la Cave Western Reserve University. Es el fundador de Origins un programa que agrupa a científicos de todo el mundo y expertos en diversas disciplinas para dilucidar los orígenes del universo, de la especie humana y de nuestra consciencia. Krauss es autor de más de 300 publicaciones y ha sido galardonado con los más prestigiosos premios de investigación del mundo (inluyendo el Julius Edgard Lilienfield o la medalla Oersted). En 2013 se estrenará un documental llamado The Unbelievers en el que él y Richard Dawkins (pero donde aparecen también Woody Allen, Ian McEwan, Werner Herzog o Cormac McCarthy) discuten sobre los límites de la ciencia y la razón.
