Biografía del autor

Robert Fisk, corresponsal en Oriente Próximo del periódico británico The Independent, ha vivido en esa región durante más de tres décadas. Su último libro, La gran guerra por la civilización (Destino, 2006), mereció una acogida y un reconocimiento unánimes. Doctor en ciencias políticas por el Trinity College de Dublín, su labor como periodista le ha valido hasta la fecha seis doctorados honoris causa. Fisk es el corresponsal británico en el extranjero más premiado. Ha recibido el Premio al Periodista Internacional Británico del Año siete veces (las últimas en 1995 y 1996) y el Premio a la Prensa de Amnistía Internacional en el Reino Unido en 1998 y en 2000. El 2004 fue galardonado con el Premio Godó de Periodismo, que otorga la Fundación Conde de Godó, por su reportaje Saqueadores del Iraq devastado , publicado en La Vanguardia el 4 de junio de 2003.
