Nació en Suiza y vive en Italia. A sus 22 años comenzó a escribir e ilustrar viñetas en la revista mensual italiana Linus. Desde el año 2000 es autor de libros infantiles ilustrados, los cuales han sido traducidos a varios idiomas así como editados en Francia, Italia y Estados Unidos. Ha recibido importantes premios como el Baobab (2005).
