Biografía del autor

(Truman Streckfus Persons; Nueva Orleans, 1924-Los Ángeles, 1984). Novelista estadounidense. Escritor precoz, se dio a conocer a los veinticuatro años con Otras voces, otros ámbitos (1948), que obtuvo cierto éxito y generó importantes expectativas sobre su futura obra. Tras publicar varias novelas de contenido simbólico y onírico, Capote se dedicó a trabajar su estilo y consolidar su concepción novelística, resultado de lo cual fue la publicación de Desayuno en Tyffanyx{0026} x02019;s (1958). Su interés por el periodismo y su intensa colaboración con la revista New Yorker lo acercaron a la disciplina del reportaje de investigación, lo que dio como fruto su célebre obra A sangre fría, creadora del género de la non-fiction novel. Por esta novela, junto a Norman Mailer y Tom Wolfe, Capote es considerado uno de los padres del new journalism, que combina la ficción narrativa y el periodismo de reportaje, dentro de una nueva concepción de la relación entre realidad y ficción.
