Now, living in his late mother's house with the obsolete archive of the newspaper he once worked for, he looks back on days spent poring over files and clippings, increasingly withdrawn from the world. His occasional relationships never amounted to anything, and the memory of Franziska-who became pop singer Fabienne-continues to haunt him as she appears in the media.

Peter Stamm, geboren 1963, studierte nach einer kaufmännischen Lehre einige Semester Anglistik, Psychologie, Psychopathologie und Wirtschaftsinformatik. Längere Aufenthalte in Paris, New York und Skandinavien. Er lebt mit seiner Familie in Winterthur. Peter Stamm arbeitete in verschiedenen Berufen, unter anderem in Paris und New York, seit 1990 als freier Autor und Journalist. Er schrieb mehr als ein Dutzend Hörspiele. 2012 wurde Peter Stamm mit dem Bodensee-Literaturpreis der Stadt Überlingen ausgezeichnet. <br>
