The Animal Kingdom is a language game for learning animal names in English and vocabulary related to their main features and the environment of life. Difficulty level: A1-A2 Variant of the game in the bingo game convention: Each participant receives one or several boards with pictures of different animals. Then, the leading person randomly draws the cards and depending on the difficulty of the game, he shows pictures or reads out words to other participants of the game, whose task is to find appropriate equivalents on their own boards. The player who first matches all names or illustrations from his board / boards to the presented pictures or the names to be read, wins. Depending on the level of knowledge of the vocabulary and language skills of players, the following variants of matching cards to the boards are possible:- name name- photo photo- name photo- photo name Another variant of the game: Each participant receives several cards and a board with a list of animals with a specific feature related to the environment and lifestyle or anatomical structure. The player's task is to complete the cards with all the animals on his list. For this purpose, the first player asks his neighbor a question about the chosen animal he needs (for example: Have you got the rabbit?). If the questioned participant in the game is in possession of a card with this animal, he answers yes Yes, I'v got the rabbit. and passes the card to the questioner, but if there is no card, he answers: No, I have not got the rabbit. Then the questioned person asks another player to ask for one of the animals on his list. You can ask for many animals many times and many people, however, once received, the card must be transferred to another player who will ask for it. The player who is the first to complete all the animals on his list wins. Language goals: -pognition of animal names in English (66 words)- learning vocabulary related to selected animal traits and their living environment. Age range: children from 7 years old, adolescents, adults Application: The game is applicable both during classes at school and at home (playing with friends and family, or private English lessons). Additional benefits: The Animal Kingdom game improves mental skills such as memory, concentration and perceptiveness, promotes effective memorization and teaches activity and healthy competition, and its ludic character helps in establishing social relations with other participants of the game and has a positive effect on reducing the distance between the student and learners. The game has been developed based on the criteria of the European System of Language Description level A1-A2 Set contains: -36 boards with groups of animals on one side and illustrations on the other side,-66 cards with animal illustrations and their names,-instruction in English.



Biografía del autor

(Madrid, 1935) es uno de los grandes dibujantes españoles de inspiración literaria. Nombrado miembro de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando en 1998, desde muy joven demostró su enorme talento creativo y con solo 22 años obtuvo la Tercera Medalla de Pintura y Dibujo en la Exposición Nacional de Bellas Artes. Becado por la Academia de España en Roma en 1964, desde entonces ha publicado varios libros de arte, ha sido profesor visitante en universidades como la japonesa de Nara y ha ilustrado libros como el poemario de Luis Alberto de Cuenca La mujer y el vampiro (2010), Tatuaje, de Junichiro Tanizaki (2010), Amor y gimnasia, de Edmondo de Amicis (2011) y Gitanjali, del Premio Nobel Rabindranath Tagore (2014) y Pinocho (2014), de Carlo Collodi.
