Dee Brown (1908-2002) fue escritor, historiador y bibliotecario. Se crió en Arkansas y conoció personalmente a los antiguos indios americanos. A partir estas vivencias Brown escribió en 1970 su superventas internacional Enterrad mi corazón en Wounded Knee. Escribió más de 25 libros sobre la historia de Estados Unidos y el Oeste americano. Falleció en 2002 a la edad de 94 años.
