TED CHIANG (Nueva York, 1967) es uno de los escritores de ciencia ficción más prestigiosos de la actualidad. Autor de tan sólo diecinueve narraciones cortas a lo largo de tres décadas, ha sido galardonado con los premios más importantes del género: cuatro Premios Hugo, cuatro Nebula, seis Locus y el British Science Fiction Association Award, entre otros. Es autor de La historia de tu vida (Alamut, 2015), cuyo cuento homónimo fue adaptado al cine por Denis Villeneuve con el título La llegada en 2016. Exhalación, su segundo volumen de relatos, fue seleccionado en 2019 por The New York Times como uno de los cinco libros de ficción del año.
