Biografía del autor

Val McDermid (Kirkcaldy, 1955) es una de las grandes plumas del panorama negro de las últimas décadas. Escritora de números uno, sus novelas han sido traducidas a más de treinta idiomas y han vendido más de quince millones de ejemplares. Su obra ha sido reconocida con diversos premios internacionales, como la Daga de Oro del CWA a la mejor novela policiaca del año y el premio Libro del Año del LA Times. Fue incluida en el hall of fame de los premios de crimen y thriller de la ITV3 en 2009, recibió la Daga de Diamante Cartier de la CWA en 2010 y el premio Pioneer de la Lambda Literary Foundation en 2011. En 2016 recibió el premio a la más destacada contribución a la ficción criminal en el Festival de Escritura Criminal del Theakstons Old Peculier, y fue elegida miembro de la Real Sociedad de Literatura.
