Philip i Erin Stead es van conèixer a lx{0026} x02019;escola secundària, a classe de dibuix. Viuen i treballen en una antiga granja centenària a Ann Arbor (Michigan) amb el seu gos Wednesday. El Philip és il-lustrador i autor. Lx{0026} x02019;Erin també és il-lustradora, i crea las seves il-lustracions a mà, amb tècniques de xilografia i llapis. Un dia diferent per al senyor Amos McGee (originalment en anglès amb el títol A Sick Day for Amos McGee ) va ser el segon llibre publicat pel Phil i el primer de l'Erin. Ha estat guardonat amb la medalla Caldecott 2011.
