This volume provides a comprehensive introduction to the Spanish political system and the present state of the parties, while also dealing with Spanish politics in its historical context. Individual chapters deal with the party system, national parties such as the PSOE and the Partido Popular and parties at the level of the Autonomous Communities. The regional and nationalist parties with the Autonomous Communities are dealt with in chapters on Euskadi, Galicia and Catalonia.
