Biografía del autor

Nació en Reino Unido en 1911. Fue un brillante escritor inglés dedicado en sus inicios a la poesía. En 1952 se decidió por la prosa; su primera novela, El Señor de las Moscas (1954), finalmente obtuvo un éxito rotundo y se convirtió en uno de los libros más leídos de la literatura contemporánea. Falleció en Cornualles en 1993.
