Biografía del autor

Samuel Langhorne Clemens, más conocido como Mark Twain, nació en la villa de Florida, Misuri, en 1835. Cuando tenía cuatro años de edad, se trasladó con su familia a la localidad de Hannibal, a orillas del Misisipi. A los doce años, empezó a trabajar como aprendiz en el periódico local. Posteriormente, trabajó como impresor en varias ciudades, y se hizo piloto de un barco de vapor. Con estas tres obras alcanzaría gran fama en su época. En 1881, escribió x{0026}lt;i El príncipe y el mendigox{0026}lt;/i , que es su primera novela histórica. En 1889, publicó x{0026}lt;i Un yanki en la corte del rey Arturox{0026}lt;/i , y, en 1905, una de sus últimas obras, x{0026}lt;i El forastero misteriosox{0026}lt;/i . Gracias a su ingenio y sus sátiras consiguió grandes éxitos como escritor y orador. Falleció en Redding, Connecticut, en 1910.
