1918. A young American soldier recently wounded in the Great War, Alex White comes to Gatford to escape his troubled past. Nació en Nueva Jersey, Estados Unidos, en 1926. Ray Bradbury y Stephen King lo consideran uno de los mayores autores del siglo xx. Además de su contribución a la ciencia ficción, el terror, la fantasía y el wéstern, Matheson destacó como guionista, con premios como el World Fantasy, el Bram Stoker, el International Horror Guild Award y el Locus. Murió en California en 2013.
