CHRISTIANNA BRAND (Malasia británica, 1907-Londres, 1988), además de escritora, fue modelo, bailarina, dependienta en una tienda e institutriz. Escribió novelas de misterio y tres cuentos para niños protagonizados por Matilda, que inspiraron la película La niñera mágica, con Emma Thompson y Colin Firth.
