Biografía del autor

Martin McDonagh (Londres, 1970) es dramaturgo, guionista y director de cine. Hijo de emigrantes irlandeses, creció en el sur de Londres escuchando el habla y los ritmos del oeste de Irlanda, territorio que convertiría más tarde en el escenario distorsionado y brutal de sus primeras obras teatrales. La trilogía de Leenane lo catapultó de inmediato a la fama. Ha sido comparado con autores como Pinter o Mamet, y con directores como Tarantino. Su obra abarca el teatro con piezas como El cojo de Inishmaan , El teniente de Inishmore o El hombre almohada y el cine, donde ha escrito y dirigido películas premiadas como Escondidos en Brujas , Tres anuncios en las afueras y Almas en pena de Inisherin .
