Biografía del autor
Vikram Chandra (Nueva Delhi, 1961) estudió en el Mayo College de Ajmer, en Rajasthan, y Escritura Creativa en el Pomoma College de Claremont, cerca de los Ángeles. Divide su tiempo entre Bombay y Berkeley, California, donde enseña escritura creativa en la universidad. Tierra roja y lluvia torrencial, su primera novela, alcanzó un notable éxito de crítica en Inglaterra, Estados Unidos y la India y mereció los premios Commonwealth Writers 1996 a la mejor ópera prima y David Higham 1995 a la mejor obra de ficción en el Reino Unido. Con su segundo libro, una colección de relatos titulada Amor y añoranza en Bombay, consiguió de nuevo el premio Commonwealth Writers 1997.
