Business is poor at Mrs Hippo's Pizza Parlour. William and Mrs Hippo are worried, but when accident-prone Ellie Bear comes to play with William, she takes all their attention! Mrs Hippo decides to take the youngsters out for a ride in her motorbike sidecar, to keep Ellie out of harm's way. After an eventful journey through the town, they end up on the beach, where Ellie writes her name in the sand, and William copies the idea with the message "Mrs Hippo's Pizzas Are The Best!" That night there is a long queue outside the Pizza Parlour, and Mrs Hippo and William have to work hard to keep up with demand . . .
Vivian French was best known at school for talking too much. She continued her attachment to words by becoming first an actor, then a storyteller and finally a writer of children's books. She now travels all over the world, telling stories and swapping ideas about books and writing with children and adults . . . and, she admits, she still talks too much.
