Reif Larsen tiene 29 años. Estudió en la Brown University y ha sido profesor en la Universidad de Columbia, donde cursó un máster en Ficción. Como cineasta ha realizado documentales en el África Subsahariana, Estados Unidos y Reino Unido. Las obras escogidas de T. S. Spivet, su primera novela, se ha convertido en un éxito.
