Chris Riddell estudió ilustración en Brighton. Con sus ilustraciones se dirige tanto a niños como adultos, y los conquista con su visión satírica, los fascinantes detalles de sus dibujos y los elementos fantásticos que añade. Ha recibido diversos galardones británicos e internacionales. Es, además, un reconocido dibujante de caricaturas políticas para varios periódicos y revistas.
