Arthur Gordon Pym is eighteen years old and wants to become a sailor. With the help of his friend Augustus, he hides on the ship and thanks to this he sets off on a long sea journey, during which he meets pirates, a ghost ship and visits numerous islands to finally reach Antarctica. Structure: The presented history is divided into chapters and preceded by a map showing the hero's legacy and the Before You Read Activities section containing exercises introducing the reader into the text of the book in terms of vocabulary and grammar.Glossaries with translations of selected words located at the bottom of each page help to better understand the text. Biografía del autor

Nació en Boston en 1809. Quedó huérfano a los tres años. La tradición sureña, con sus relatos de aparecidos, cementerios y cadáveres, ofreció un vasto repertorio sobrenatural a este maestro del cuento breve, que en 1814 inauguró el género policial con Los crímenes de la calle Morgue. De Poe, Libros del Zorro Rojo ha publicado también El gato negro y otros relatos de terror y Edgar Allan Poe, Cuentos y poemas.
