Chris Haughton se define a sí mismo como diseñador y autor de álbumes infantiles. Ha trabajado mucho tiempo de forma independiente, colaborando muy activamente con organizaciones de comercio justo. Sus álbumes ilustrados gozan de un enorme éxito internacional. A Bit Lost (Un poco perdido en español, primer libro de Chris que publica NubeOcho) ha sido traducido a 27 idiomas y ha recibido premios en varios países, incluyendo el de Libro Ilustrado del Año en Holanda; Haughton también ha ganado el premio Álbum ilustrado del Año de la Junior Magazine Picturebook y el premio AOI de libro infantil.
