Gillian Flynn nació en 1971 en Kansas, EE.UU. Máster en Periodismo, trabajó durante diez años en la revista Entertainment Weekly, donde su labor como crítica de cine y de televisión la llevó a conocer y analizar las mejores y más novedosas ficciones audiovisuales, y a visitar rodajes alrededor del mundo.
