From the rubble-strewn streets of U.S.-occupied Baghdad, Hadi'a scavenger and an oddball fixture at the local cafe'collects human body parts and stitches them together to create a corpse. His goal, he claims, is for the government to recognize the parts as people and to give them proper burial. But when the corpse goes missing, a wave of eerie murders sweeps the city, and reports stream in of horrendous-looking criminals who, though shot, cannot be killed.

Hadi soon realizes hes created a monster, one that needs human flesh to survive'first from the guilty, and then from anyone in its path. x{0026}lt;p x{0026}lt;b Ahmed Saadawix{0026}lt;/b (Bagdad, 1973) es escritor y guionista. En 2010 fue seleccionado como uno de los treinta y nueve mejores jóvenes escritores árabes por el Beirut39. En 2014 se convirtió en el primer autor iraquí en recibir el prestigioso Premio Internacional de Ficción Árabe por x{0026}lt;i Frankenstein en Bagdadx{0026}lt;/i (2013; Libros del Asteroide, 2019), obra por la que también recibió en 2017 el Grand Prix de Lx{0026} x02019;Imaginaire, en su categoría de novela extranjera, y fue finalista del Man Booker International. Es autor de un volumen de poesía, cuatro novelas y un conjunto de relatos cortos. Actualmente vive en Bagdad.x{0026}lt;/p
