Ha intervenido en destacados juicios internacionales celebrados en el Tribunal de Justicia de la Unión Europea, la Corte Internacional de Justicia, la Corte Penal Internacional y el Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos. Entre los casos en los que ha participado destacan el juicio al dictador chileno Augusto Pinochet, los crímenes de guerra en Yugoslavia, el genocidio de Ruanda, la invasión de Irak, las torturas de la prisión de Guantánamo y las disputas en torno al archipiélago de Chagos, entre otros.
