When the senior biologist is found dead in his laboratory Commander Dalgliesh is called to the bleak fens of East Anglia, where the murderer is lying in wait to strike again.

Biografía del autor

P. D. James (Oxford, 1920-2014) estudió en Cambridge y trabajó durante veinte años en el Servicio Nacional de Salud y en el Ministerio de Interior, primero en el departamento de policía y más tarde en el departamento de política criminal. Fue miembro del Arts Council, del British Council, de la Royal Society of Literature, de la Royal Society of Arts, directora de la BBC y magistrada en Middlesex y Londres. Escribió más de una veintena de obras y recibió los más destacados premios del género. Además fue doctora honoris causa en siete universidades británicas, fue elegida presidenta de la Society of Authors y recibió la Orden del Imperio Británico.
