Biografía del autor

Muhsin Al-Ramli (Irak, 1967) es uno de los más importantes novelistas y dramaturgos iraquíes, además de traductor de varios clásicos españoles al árabe. Vive en España desde 1995, año en que fue empujado al exilio por el régimen de Sadam Hussein. Es hermano del también escritor Hassan Mutlak, considerado como el Lorca iraquí por parte de la intelectualidad de su país, que fue ahorcado por el régimen en 1990 tras haber participado en un intento de golpe de Estado. Fundador de la revista cultural "Alwah" en 1997, de la que es coeditor, desde 2004 es profesor en la Universidad de San Luis, Madrid. Su novela "Los jardines del presidente" estuvo en 2013 entre las finalistas del premio IPAF, conocido como el "premio Booker árabe", y ganó el English Pen Award.
