Raoul Martinez es escritor, artista y aclamado cineasta. Crear libertad es su primer libro que nace de un proyecto personal gestado a lo largo de una década, una serie documental con título homónimo. El primer episodio, The Lottery of Birth, escrito, producido y codirigido por él, se estrenó en 2012. Fue nominado a Mejor documental en el Raindance Film Festival de Londres y ganó el Artivist Spirit 2012 Award en el Artivist Spirit de Hollywood.
