Mircea Cx{0026} x00103;rtx{0026} x00103;rescu (Bucarest, 1956) és poeta, prosista, crític literari i publicista. És considerat un dels escriptors amb més projec ció internacional de Romania. Ha guanyat pràcticament tots els premis literaris del seu país i nombrosos premis internacionals, incloent-hi el Premi Berlín de Literatura 2012, el Premi Gregor von Rezzori 2016, el premi Thomas Mann de Literatura 2018 i el premi Formentor de les Lletres 2018.
