Matt Groening, creador y productor ejecutivo de la serie de 'Los Simpsons', hizo historia en la televisión al llevar la animación al horario de máxima audiencia y crear una familia inmortal. 'Los Simpsons' es la serie animada de mayor duración en el horario de máxima audiencia en la historia de la televisión y actualmente es la comedia de mayor duración en la televisión, habiendo emitido más de 400 episodios. La otra creación de Groening ganadora del premio Emmy, 'Futurama', se estrenó en Fox en marzo de 1999 y duró cinco temporadas.<br> <br> En 1993, Groening formó Bongo Comics Group. Además de los numerosos premios otorgados a sus creaciones (entre ellos, los Emmy, los Annies y el prestigioso premio Peabody), Groening fue distinguido personalmente con el premio Rueben al dibujante destacado del año, el máximo galardón que otorga la National Cartoonist Society.
