Resumen del libro

I loved an anthropologist. She went to Mongolia to study the gays. At first she kept their culture at arm's length, but eventually she decided that her fieldwork would benefit from assimilation. She worked hard to become as much like them as possible, and gradually she was accepted. After a while she ended our romance by letter.

It breaks my heart to think of her herding those yaks in the freezing hills, the peak of her leather cap shielding her eyes from the driving wind, her wrist dangling away, and nothing but a handlebar moustache to keep her top lip warm.

Biografía del autor

Dan Rhodes (Purley, Inglaterra, 1972) estudió Humanidades y Escritura Creativa en la Universidad de Glamorgan. Hasta la fecha es autor de seis libros: los volúmenes de relatos Antropology (2000) y Donx{0026} 39;t Tell Me The Truth About Love (2001), que le valieron elogios de la crítica por su extraordinario sentido del humor, su utilización del registro de lo grotesco y su innegable talento para contar historias de amor, rasgos que se confirmaron con las novelas Timoleon Vieta vuelve a casa (Alfaguara, 2004), El cochecito blanco (Alfaguara, 2005), que escribió bajo el pseudónimo Danuta de Rhodes, y Oro (Alfaguara, 2008).
