Hija de profesores, Jeanne Willis, empezó a escribir con cinco años. Se formó como redactora publicitaria en Watford College y trabajó en publicidad hasta la llegada de su segundo hijo. Desde entonces, se dedica plenamente a la escritura y ha publicado más de 80 libros. Le encanta leer y coleccionar orugas. Jeanne también ha escrito guiones para televisión, y muchas historias divertidas para su amigo y colega Quentin Blake. Vive en el norte de Londres con su marido y sus dos hijos.
